Shatter Me (Shatter Me, #1)
The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliette's touch is fatal. As long as she doesn't hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don't fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.
The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war-- and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she's exactly what they need right now.
Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior.

I totally recommend this. I didn`t stop reading this. My hands were and eyes were glued to the book.
Juliette has this power to torture or kill someone by simple touching. She can`t control it, so she does not allow anyone near her....And when someone she thinks she knew from her past enters her prison or cell, everything shatters. Everything changes.

okay I know what I said was stupid.

I love the romance in here. It was just so sweet. It was the main reason I couldn`t stop reading this. He was just so sweet. At first I was too shocked to know the guy`s name because....in this rp I`m in, it was the boy`s my character was interested in. I even thought I was haunted by the name. Lol.

Rating:

So, yeah. Read it. You won`t regret it.
I can`t even wait for the sequel.

THG soundtrack: Safe and Sound by Taylor Swift ft. The Civil Wars.
Tuesday, February 28, 2012 @ 9:10 PM | 0 Comment [s]

I changed my blog`s music to Safe and Sound from One Thing by One Direction.
It just seemed fitting with the good night and calming theme.
And I so love the Hunger Games. This song reminds me a lot of the books: Rue, Peeta, and Prim. I bet when I watch the movie, and the song plays, I`d either cry or get goosebumps because of the understanding I have for the story and how fitting the song is.
Anyway, just one more month before the THG premieres~.

WHO`S READY FOR THE MOVIE?

Here`s the MV and lyrics below.

I remember tears streaming down your face
When I said, I'll never let you go
When all those shadows almost killed your light
I remember you said, Don't leave me here alone
But all that's dead and gone and passed tonight

Just close your eyes
The sun is going down
You'll be alright
No one can hurt you now
Come morning light
You and I'll be safe and sound

Don't you dare look out your window

Darling, everything's on fire
The war outside our door keeps raging on
Hold onto this lullaby
Even when the music's gone
Gone

Just close your eyes
The sun is going down
You'll be alright
No one can hurt you now
Come morning light
You and I'll be safe and sound

Just close your eyes
You'll be alright
Come morning light,
You and I'll be safe and sound...

Search for Delicious by Natalie Babbit.

The Search for Delicious

Copied from Goodreads.

Gaylen, the King`s messenger, a skinny boy of twelve, is off to poll the kingdom, traveling from town to farmstead to town on his horse, Marrow. At first it is merely a question of disagreement of the royal castle over which food should stand for Delicious in the new dictionary. But it seems that the search for the Delicious had better succeed if civil war is avoided.
Gaylen`s quest leads him to the worldweller, a wise, 900-year old creature who lives alone at the precise center of the forest; to Canto, the minstrel who sings him an old song about a mermaid child and who gives him a peculiar-looking good-luck charm; to the underground domain of the dwarfs; and finally to Ardis, who might save the kingdom from havoc. The Search for Delicious is a 1969 New York Times Book Review Notable Children`s Book of the Year.

I found the plot somewhat stupid. I had only chose this because of the cover with a wonderful swimming mermaid and because of the author. Yeah, you could probably guess where I got my name. For the story, well, it didn`t strike me as most books does. I`m recommending this for someone younger, someone who`s pretty interested in fantasy and medieval books. The people were quite immature, arguing over words. I was like, "Did they ever thought that delicious can be a lot of choices depending on the person? Seriously."

Gotta end this post before I say more insults on the characters..

As much as I don`t understand well the problem, I gave this book 4 stars. I enjoyed it at the time, but now? No.

The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin.

The Westing Game

I`ll just copy what`s written on the back of the book and explain further below. I bought this book during our book fair, for only 145php. My online friend got one in Booksale, though, but unfortunately I didn`t find one and I had to buy the pricey one.

A bizarre chain of events begins when sixteen unlikely people gather together for the reading of Samuel W. Westing`s will. And though no one knows why the eccentric, game-loving millionaire has chosen a virtual stranger--and a possible murderer--to inherit his vast fortune, one thing`s for sure: Sam Westing may be dead...but that won`t stop him from playing the last game!

So, there. Sam Westing was a billionaire, who wanted to play a game for a heir to win his vast fortune. There were a lot of characters, and that made the story hard to understand. I read off some parts without understanding it, hoping it would be explained again on another page. It`s got a lot of twists and turns, which made the game hard to solve. There were a lot of clues, a lot of loopholes, and a lot of suspects. It was a real game. I wonder how crazy people would be if this was done on real life. They would actually kill, I think, not just set bombs to threaten people to give over their clues.

Anyway, the ending was really great. I didn`t expect that blah blah blah is blah blah blah and blah blah blah. So unexpected. Ellen Raskin made the best mystery book I`ve ever read.
